Christmas is such a special time of the year! We celebrate the birth of our Savior, which was the greatest gift of all time, we spend time with family and friends, and if you’re like us, you have special traditions that we enjoy throughout the season.

It is so important in our home that we don’t fall into the trap of our culture’s commercialized Christmas. One of our home mottos is to keep the main thing the main thing…and Christmas is all about JESUS!!! It is about giving, and how God was willing to give His best to show us just how much He loves us. We do like to give gifts around here, but it’s not our main jam at Christmas, and if you have ever felt the pressure of our culture’s ways pressing in on you, know that you don’t have to do things just like everyone else!

There are so many things you can do, that don’t cost a lot but make lasting impacts and build sweet memories with our families. Every family is different, and there is no perfect way to do spend your Christmas holiday, but I would encourage you that if what you are doing is causing you anxiety and stress, that that is probably not God’s best for you! Don’t be afraid to keep things simple, to focus on family, on serving others, and keeping the spotlight on the most perfect gift this season….JESUS!!!!

Maybe you come from a family that went all out at Christmas, and it just feels weird to change the way you celebrate. I would love to encourage you today as a child of God, to listen to the leading and guidance of the Holy Spirit for your family. Even His guidance takes you down a new path, follow His lead, simplify, and let His peace rule and reign in your heart this Christmas!

Blessings & Loads of Joy,
